VIP Sea Spider (Crab) /Shrimp Cocktail


  • 3 cups cherry tomatoes cut into halves.
  • 2-4 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 of a medium yellow onion
  • 1 lime
  • 1 jalapeno
  • Hand-full of cilantro
  • 1 English Cucumber
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Clamato/ Spicy Tomato Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Tajin
  • 2 Tablespoons of Ketchup
  • 1-4 Tablespoons of Valentina hot sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon of Horseradish
  • As much sea spider or shrimp as you caught


  • Dice onion, garlic gloves, jalapeño, cilantro, Cucumber into small pieces. Honestly, the smaller you make the pieces the better this turns out. When it comes to the jalapeño, put as much or as little as you would like. If you like the flavor but not the heat, remove the seeds and ribs (white stuff inside). Guys, use rubber gloves or be sure to wash your hands before using the restroom. Consider yourself warned.
  • Put above diced ingredients in a large metal bowl. Squeeze in ½ of a lime and season with salt. The lime breaks the onion down so it is not so sharp. The metal bowl is used for loud stirring. Do this while your kids are watching their favorite show. Small victory for mom or dad.
  • Submerge ingredients in Clamato/Tomato Juice. Mix in Tajin, ketchup, hot sauce, and horse radish. Taste for heat. Adjust to your likings.
  • Fold in Sea Spider/Shrimp. Let this set in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Good luck with that. I bet most of it will be gone in the first 30 minutes.
